My comment:
(a) Speaking out needs courage, but Senator Paul was an eye surgeon (but not  board-certified). Anybody with some medical training can tell that the minority leader (from Kentucky) suffered two episodes of petit mal (seizure) or absence seizure. What we commonly call epilepsy is generalized seizure or grand mal seizure. Recent news reports suggested that Sen McConnel had concussion earlier this ear.
(b) French-English dictionary:
