technology mission. Washington Post, May 17, 2010.

("Short of a calamitous economic collapse or a game-changing technological
breakthrough, China's chances look slim: Its mostly coal- and oil-fueled
economy is growing so fast that its real but relatively modest green gains
 simply can't keep up")

 My comment:
 (a) What the quote says is unless there is economic collapse causing
dramatic drop of use of coal and oil, renewable energy (including wind and
nuclear power)--despite absolute and steady increase--will account for a
smaller and smaller slice of pie. See the last four paragraphs.

The report mentioned Mayor Wu Cuiyun 吴翠云. The city boasts of the nickname
 China Solar City 中国太阳城.
