(1) Jason Chow and Nadya Masidlover, Chanel Fashion Emergency: the Euro. Wall Street Journal, Mar 18, 2015. www.wsj.com/articles/chanel-acts ... y-market-1426623246

 he first two paragraphs:

"PARIS—French fashion house Chanel said Tuesday it would increase prices in Europe on some of its prestigious handbags while slashing them in China in a bid to eliminate a growing price gap between Europe and Asia caused by the weakened euro.

"Chanel said the price changes would take effect on April 8 and are required to eliminate a flourishing gray market for travelers who have been taking advantage of the vast price differential, buying handbags in Europe and reselling them in China.

 My comment:
 (a) View the graphic first (comparing price of specific product from three fashion houses; the graphic does not appears in the translation, see next) and read the first two paragraphs only (above).
 (b) I am sure the price differences appear not just in Chanel products, but across the board.

 (2) The above report is summarized (in a couple of paragraphs) in a Chinese-language piece.
