(a) S-300“骄子式”:

S-300 PMU2 has a popular name "Favorit." I do not know what language this
spelling belongs to.

Why does VOA translate Favorit as 骄子?  In presidential campaign in US--
either in primary or general election--a candidate (almost always a man) has
the home turf advantage, receives most of the votes in his home state and
is called a favorite son.

(b) 金刚石-安泰 Almaz-Antei (also spelled as "Antey")

(i) "almaz" is Russian for "diamond."
