Note:
(a) "Samsung claimed earlier this week to have become the first company in the world to produce cutting-edge 10-nanometer chips, a claim Chang disputed during a press conference at his company's annual sports and family day.  'We have already begun churning out advanced 10-nanometer chips... I think our schedule is definitely ahead of Samsung,' [Morris] Chang said.

* LPE  and LPP stands for "Low-Power Early" and ""Low-Power Plus," respectively.
(b) "Observers believe Samsung lost chip orders to TSMC for Snapdragon 830 smartphone processors, manufactured [sic; should be 'designed'] by US mobile technology firm Qualcomm, due to technical issues with its own 10-nanometer chips."

This is a bit too friendly to TSMC. Qualcomm handed over to Samsung 10-nm Snapdragon 830, which is indisputably not produced. But it is not clear what really happens, and whether Samsung still gets to keep the order. The most charitable (to TSMC ) news  report is
