(1) Mike Colias, GM Unplugs Breakthrough Electric Vehicle.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/gm- ... tric-car-1544356800
("The plug-in electric vehicle [Volt] won praise from auto critics who heralded the car as an engineering marvel when it was introduced in 2010. * * * The Volt, though, was also a big money loser for GM")

Note:
(a) The online title is "GM Bids Farewell to Its Breakthrough Electric Car." This report is locked behind paywall. There is no need to read the rest, though.
(b) The graphic accompanying this report shows, in part (heading: "Top-selling electric vehicles in the US in 2018" by units not revenue), that Volt is the No 5 brand behind Tesla Model 3, Toyota Prius Prime, Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X (in that order).

(2) Dan Strumpf, Stakes Are High for Huawei Suppliers.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/sil ... antle-it-1544358603

The first 2  1/2 paragraphs:

"American companies have been crucial in helping Huawei Technologies Co become the world’s dominant telecommunications player.

"Silicon Valley giants from Intel Corp to Broadcom Inc. and Qualcomm Inc are top suppliers of Huawei, which buys their components to make equipment such as base stations and routers and Huawei mobile phones. By one estimate, Huawei will buy up to $10 billion of components from American companies this year—roughly the value of China’s automobile imports from the US.

"Qualcomm and Intel are also working with Huawei on its development of next-generation 5G technologies
