Former Manager for International Airline Pleads Guilty to Acting As an Agent of the Chinese Government. US attorney's office for Eastern District of New York, Apr 17, 2019 (DOJ Press Release Number: 19-393).

Note:
(a) United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York us based in Brooklyn. (United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Manhattan.)
(b) This press release identifies Lin's employer this way: "Lin, a former manager with an international air carrier headquartered in the PRC (the Air Carrier)." VOA Chinese (see above) says it is 中国国际航空公司 Air China.

(c) "Richard P Donoghue, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, John C Demers, Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department's National Security Division, William F Sweeney, Jr, Assistant Director-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Field Office (FBI), and Angel M Melendez, Special Agent-in-Charge, Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), announced the guilty plea."
(i) John C Demers is the Assistant Attorney General in charge -- ie, head -- of Justice Department's National Security Division.
(ii) "William F Sweeney, Jr, Assistant Director-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Field Office (FBI)"
(A) list of FBI field offices

(56 field offices)
(B) Federal Bureau of Investigation

(section 3 Organization: a map of 56 field divisions: eg, Boston field office covers Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, whereas Pittsburgh field office covers western Pennsylvania and West Virginia (State of Pennsylvania is split into eastern and western halves) ))

FBI has one director, one deputy director, one associate director and many executive assistant directors in charge of FBI divisions.

Field Offices. FBI, undated
https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices
("The FBI has 56 field offices (also called divisions) centrally located in major metropolitan areas across the US and Puerto Rico. They are the places where we carry out investigations, assess local and regional crime threats, and work closely with partners on cases and operations. Each field office is overseen by a special agent in charge, except our offices in Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington, DC, which are headed by an assistant director in charge due to their large size. Within these [possibly meaning 56, rather than the preceding three] field offices are a total of about 380 resident agencies located in smaller cities and towns. Resident agencies are managed by supervisory special agents")
(iii)

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is a division within Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of US Department of Homeland Security.(headed by Secretary of Homeland Security).

Angel M Melendez is, since 2016, "special agent in charge of ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New York City," according to a press release of ICE.

ICE is headed by a director, followed by oe deputy director and two executive associate directors (one of whom heads HSI) 00 and no assistant directors.

(d) "FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge Sweeney[:]  'Ms Lin was secreting packages through some of the country's busiest airports, using her work with the Chinese government to thwart our security measures.  We believe this case isn’t unique' "

secrete
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/secrete

(always a transitive verb, and always with the same pronunciation) has two definitions (each with its own etymology),  Entry 1 is "to form and give off (a secretion)" --with origin: "back-formation from [noun] secretion."  "Entry 2 is "to deposit or conceal in a hiding place" -- its origin is: alteration of secret.
(e) "As part of the guilty plea, Lin agreed to forfeit approximately $25,000 as well as an additional $145,000 in connection with her resolution of the government's forfeiture verdict in United States v. Zhong, No. 16-CR-614 (AMD).
(i) Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) is codified as 22 USC § 611 et seq, where "et seq" is shorthand for Latin term "et sequentes" meaning "and the subsequent" sections.
(ii) The 22 USC § 618 (whose heading is "Enforcement and penalties") states, "* * * shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment for not more than five years, or both, except that in the case of a violation of subsection (b), (e), or (f) of section 614 of this title or of subsection (g) or (h) of this [618] section the punishment shall be a fine of not more than $5,000 or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both."
(iii) I do not know how Lin's case is connected to Zhong's, at least with regard to forfeiture. My guess is that Lin benefited from forced labor imposed by Zhong. See

Press release: Former Chinese Diplomat and Head Of US Operations For Chinese Construction Business Convicted if Engaging In Forced Labor And Related Charges By A Federal Jury; Defendant Exploited Laborers Performing Construction Work in the New York City Metropolitan Area. US Attorney's Office for Eastern District of New York, Mar 25, 2019
https://www.justice.gov/usao-edn ... -business-convicted
("On Friday, March 22, 2019, following a three-week trial, a federal jury in Brooklyn returned a guilty verdict on all five counts against Dan Zhong, the head of US operations of Chinese Liaoning Rilin Construction (Group) Co Ltd [辽宁日林建设(集团)有限公司, the preceding 'Chinese' is likely an adjective, rather than part of the proper name]. (also known as China Rilin) and US-based subsidiaries, including US Rilin, who was formerly a diplomat of the People's Republic of China (PRC).  The counts of conviction were conspiracy to provide forced labor, providing and benefitting from forced labor, concealing passports and immigration documents in connection with forced labor (also known as document servitude), conspiracy to commit alien smuggling and conspiracy to commit visa fraud.  The jury also found as a sentencing enhancement that Zhong engaged in the alien smuggling for commercial gain.  Today, the jury separately concluded that six properties where the forced labor victims worked, including a high rise building in midtown Manhattan and a mansion on Long Island, are forfeitable.  Zhong’s co-defendant in the indictment, Landong Wang, is a fugitive, believed to be in the PRC.  When he is sentenced by United States District Judge Ann M Donnelly, Zhong faces up to 20 years' imprisonment")

(f) The last line indicates the case number: "E.D.N.Y. Docket No 15-CR-601 (AMD)" where
(i) 15 indicates the criminal case (CR, as opposed to CV for civil) was commenced in 2015;
(ii) AMD is the initials of presiding district judge (Ann M Donnelly).
