Simon Kuo, TSMC to Kick off Mass Production of Intel CPUs in 2H21 as Intel Shifts its CPU Manufacturing Strategies, Says TrendForce. TrendForce (2000- ; Kevin Lin 林啟東, founder and CEO; based in Taipei; 集邦科技股份有限公司), Jan 13, 2021

first three paragraphs:

"Intel has outsourced the production of about 15-20% of its non-CPU chips, with most of the wafer starts for these products assigned to TSMC and UMC, according to TrendForce's latest investigations. While the company is planning to kick off mass production of Core i3 CPUs at TSMC's 5nm node in 2H21, Intel's mid-range and high-end CPUs are projected to enter mass production using TSMC's 3nm node in 2H22.

"In recent years, Intel has experienced some setbacks in the development of 10nm and 7nm processes, which in turn greatly hindered its competitiveness in the market. With regards to smartphone processors, most of which are based on the ARM architecture, Apple and HiSilicon have been able to announce the most advanced mobile AP-SoC ahead of their competitors, thanks to TSMC's technical breakthroughs in process technology.

"With regards to CPUs, AMD, which is also outsourcing its CPU [whose architecture is non-ARM] production to TSMC, is progressively threatening Intel's PC CPU market share. * * *

Note:
(a) "Intel has outsourced the production of about 15-20% of its non-CPU chips"

Intel made the announcement on Architecture Day 2020 -- Intel Chief Architect Raja M Koduri (full name: Rajabali Makaradhwaja Koduri, born in India) held on Aug 13, 2020 -- without saying where the production would go. Most speculated it would be TSMC. TrwendForce now says both TSMC and UMC. The subjects of that announcement was the upcoming Intel Xe HPG GPU and dGPU for gamers.
(b) Intel Xe
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Xe
("stylized as Xe [this e in superscript], unofficially 'Gen 12') is general purpose GPU (GPGPU) and discrete GPU (dGPU) product line under development by Intel")
(c) What TrendForce says in this press release is that "Intel's Core i3 CPUs will be the first mass-production lineup made at TSMC and will be utilizing its 5nm process node," WccfTech (where Wccf means Where Consumers Come First) today interpretes TrendForce this way. Interpreting the same, WccFTech in the say report also says Intel's new launch (Alder Lake CPU: 10 nm) will be H2 2021 (second half of this year).
(d) alder
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alder
(belonging to the birch family)
has a pronounced the same as that in the verb alter.

Alder (tree) should not be confused with elder(berry). See Sambucus (which is genus name)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambucus
("Although the cooked berries (pulp and skin) of most species of Sambucus are edible,[7][8] the uncooked berries and other parts of plants from this genus are poisonous. * * * The genus occurs in temperate to subtropical regions of the world")
