section of Sunday Styles).

(A widow, she is 60 and he, 56)

Quote:

"'He’s 6-4 and I’m 5-2 1/2,' Ms. Mendik said with a laugh. 'And, don’t
forget the half.'

"Yet Ms. Mendik was used to tall men. Her previous husband was six feet tall.

“'She was wearing eight-inch heels, and she had two-inch lifts inside her
shoes,' Mr. Tarkinow said, joking about their first meeting.

My comment: Despite the height difference, they look about the same height
in the photograph. This is because of New York Times policy.

"Couples posing for pictures should arrange themselves with their eyebrows
on exactly the same level and with their heads fairly close together. Couple
pictures should be printed in a horizontal format." Weddings/Celebrations,
New York Times, undated.

(2) Christyn Moran and Michael Muscarella. New York Times, Nov. 22, 2009 (in
the section of Sunday Styles).
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/22/fashion/weddings/22MORAN.html?scp=1&sq=moran&st=cse

Quote:

"Ms. Moran was a 21-year-old senior at Rosemont [College at Rosemont,
Pennsylvania when they met in 1991], and Mr. Muscarella, a 33-year-old
Villanova alumnus who owned a business that produced collegiate apparel for
both institutions.

“'I had seen Christyn before and wanted to meet her, but one of her best
friends was a good client of mine, and some of her other friends were very
protective of her,' Mr. Muscarella said. 'I thought her friends weren’t
going to allow it to happen, they wouldn’t approve of it, especially
because of the age thing, so I didn’t really bother.'

(3) Marci Starzec, Brian Whalen. New York Times, Sept. 26, 2009 (in
the section of Sunday Styles).

(The groom, three years junior, was a doorman to the residential building where she lived).
